Our community began with the singular vision of Jeff Lamkin, a native Texan who sought to create in his home state a traditional seaside community like those his family had enjoyed for years on the Florida Panhandle.  After discovering a stretch of pristine beachfront on Mustang Island, Lamkin set out to make his dream a reality.  He assembled a team of experts in neo-traditional and coastal development, including: Mark Schnell, town planner; Jim Urban, civil engineer; and an excellent group of master craftsmen builders.

Together, our mission is to create a genuine mixed-used community that will provide generations to come with a true sense of place and belonging, and the highest possible quality of life, while also preserving the integrity of the landscape. The result is a community unlike any other on the Texas coast, which we hope you’ll embrace and enjoy as your own.

Builder Guild

Simplicity. It describes life on the water and the style of our homes built by our distinguished Builder Guild.  A Cinnamon Shore house is rooted in the unique environment and culture of the Gulf coast. And the design principles that marked its seaside structures generations ago – proportion, color, rhythm, texture and scale – are still the basic architectural elements of our community today.

Homes exteriors feature clean lines, simple massing and attention to actual architectural details, not just applied ornamentation – with a light, airy color palette that complements the coastal landscape. Nearly all homes have front porches that encourage neighborly visits, and all provide village, park, pond or Gulf views.  Each is a private sanctuary inside, with all the modern comforts and conveniences you’d expect for today’s lifestyles.  Our Builders Guild includes the following:
