Spring Break is fast-approaching, which means it’s just a matter of time before you’ll start packing to head somewhere warmer. Of course, a perfect packing list isn’t complete without a few must-reads -- after all, is there anything better than lounging by the ocean, sand between your toes, salty breeze through your hair, a warm sun, and a good book?  

Whether you are a hopeless romantic, a classics aficionado, a thrill-seeking mystery lover -- or anything in between -- we have compiled a list of books both old and new you won’t regret tossing in your bag before taking off to the beach this Spring.

No Spring reading list is complete without The Notebook. Mill worker Noah and rich girl Allie serve as a Romeo-Juliet story, kept apart by family disapproval and life’s circumstances. If you haven’t read it, spring break is the perfect time to get swept up in the classic love story. If you have read it, you’ll enjoy it so much more while laying by the ocean.

There’s no better time to dive into this instructional book and prepare yourself for spring cleaning than during the long, relaxing days at the beach. 

For a Beach Read 

Secrets in Summer by Nancy Thayer
