Port Aransas is Named Among Top 25 Favorite Beach Towns in America

We are excited to announce that Port Aransas has been listed in Fodor’s “America’s 25 Favorite Beach Towns.” The US is covered with beautiful beaches, including La Jolla, Gulf Shores, Key West, and Long Beach, so we are honored to be included amongst some of the best beach towns.

Whether an occasional getaway or a family tradition, for many, Port Aransas is a home away from home. Our guests come from all over Texas and the second they take the ferry into Mustang Island, they know good memories are soon to be made. Everyone knows Hurricane Harvey hit us hard last year, but our locals and volunteers didn’t rest for a second as they worked to recover our city. Now, not even a full calendar year later, the entire city of Port Aransas is eager and ready to welcome this summer’s wave of visitors.  

There’s just something about walking into our local establishments, like Shorty’s, and being treated like an old friend. We remember our guests faces and we truly do see you all as family. Our little town is made of less than 4,100 residents and yet millions from Texas and all over the country come to Port Aransas to escape. After all, Fodor’s says it best, “it isn’t summer without a trip to the beach.”
