Port Aransas Gains Global Reputation!
We love Port A, but more and more have discovered the charms of our little town on Mustang Island.
Port Aransas is turning heads of travel writers and vacationers in Texas and beyond.
A recent article in the Houston Chronicle touts Port Aransas' recovery from Hurricane Harvey and says Cinnamon Shore gives "a stretch of Mustang Island an exclusive resort look." It touts the things you love about Cinnamon Shore, the brightly colored homes and our signature umbrellas, concierge-planned activities like yoga and sand castle-building lessons. Plus, it celebrates our new expansion with Cinnamon Shore South, calling it a "game-changer for Port A."
Texas Coast Has Loyal Fans
There's reason to the cheer the recent attention to our fare city. According to Texas Travel, an office within the governor's office, the Gulf Coast Region of the state ranks No. 2 out of several Texas tourism regions.Texans love coming to the beach.
The Port Aransas Chamber proudly announced all sorts of media attention -- multiple (shorebird) feathers in its cap! In a recent press release, the Chamber noted that more and more groups around the globe have put Port Aransas on their lists.
- Family Vacation Critic: The city was named one of the 2019 "10 Best Family Beaches" by this online outlet, which is TripAdvisor's family travel site. The article touts the reasons loyal Port A vacationers know well: the 18 miles of beaches, the Sand Castle Guy, who gives lessons on the beach, great fishing, Texas SandFest and the convenience of driving on the firm, broad beaches.
- Travel Pulse: Named Port A to its list of "25 Relaxing Beaches Perfect for Summer," noting the biggest dilemma while you're there is "where to plant your beach chair." It also put the town on its list of "America's Most Charming Beach Seaside Towns."
- Fodor's Travel: Put Port A on the list of "America's 25 Favorite Beach Towns," letting folks in on the secrets that "you’re virtually guaranteed a dolphin sighting at sunset" when you take the ferry over.
- Travel Awaits: Ranked the town among the "Top 10 Best Bird Watching Spots in the U.S.," citing "a startling number of designated birding sites, including Paradise Pond, Wetlands Park, and the Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center." It notes that visitors can spy 100 different species of birds year-round and in sping, during peak migration time, at least 142 species.
Readers of USA Today gave Port Aransas a shout-out in its Reader's Choice Awards for Best Beaches. And for those looking for a permanent destination at the shore, USA Today also named Port Aransas one of 20 Best Places ot Buy a Beach House of Condo.
