Though it’s a become a beach destination beloved by Texas, at its heart Port Aransas is still a simple fishing village. A prized destination for serious and casual sportsmen alike, it’s known as the Fishing Capital of Texas

So rich are the waters here that the city says fishermen often reach the limits for redfish, black drum, flounder and trout in an outing

You have options here: Fish in bays and shallow water. Stay grounded and cast a line from the city’s four, lighted fishing piers or the south Jetties. Or head for deeper seas. Duck and Waterfowl Hunting in Port A

There are only a few weeks left of hunting season this winter! The shallow waters along the Texas Coast lure duck hunters looking to spy pintail, redheads, scaup, teal, bufflehead, widgeons, and gadwall—all species in great abundance here. Area outfitters can hook you up with guide who will take your group zooming over area waters in an airboat and set you up in a decoyed duck blinds tucked along the Aransas Pass Flats mangroves.
