The name "Sage and Sea" nods to the distinctive sage green in the home’s palette, a color that Atlanta interior designer Melinda Servick and the team of Sol Design says breaks with the typical blues found in many beach homes. It melds with the warm, brown tones of the wood detailing throughout and nods to dune grasses, just beyond Gulf-front windows.

The owners wanted a fresh approach to Texas beachfront living in their grand, but comfortable home nestled along the dune line at Cinnamon Shore South.

Materials, such as iron on the stair railing, nod to West Coast design. “The California modern influence of clean and simple design elements mixes with the Gulf Coast, beach life-inspired aesthetic to create a modern, coastal home that is sophisticated and cozy,” Melinda says.

A mix of woods ranges from rift-cut oak on cabinetry and wood paneling on bedroom ceilings to the custom, walnut paneling, adding depth, texture, and connection to the outdoors.
