Dallas' Go-To Magazine Praises Cinnamon Shore
In a thoughtful look at vacations at Cinnamon Shore, write Diana Spechler captures the feeling of being on site in our village.
"Beach-goers load golf carts with towels and coolers, drive down Beautiful Day Street or Slaphappy Lane, and zip over a quaint wooden boardwalk. Beside green beach chairs, an attendant plants a striped umbrella. The floppy V of a seagull stamps the blue sky. Is this Port Aransas? ...[b]ut you’ll find nary a souvenir shop...In this 200-acre private village, you’ll find stylish restaurants, airy boutiques, and seven swimming pools. You’ll discover coastal-style white houses on stilts occupied by weekenders and second-home owners."

She compares the community to Florida's famed Seaside, "where Dallasites have vacationed for decades. (A Seaside sweatshirt is practically part of the Dallas uniform.)"
To understand why the dreamy escape elicits the dreamy feel she describes in her opened, Spechler spoke with Mark Schnell, Urban Designer of Cinnamon Shore. He explained the rigor behind the town plan has a purpose. "To make a place sustainable, it has to be worth sustaining. It has to be beautiful. It has to be loved," he says in the article.
