Friends Like Family
At Cinnamon Shore, the Lifetime Bonds Start Early
“We call them the ‘summer sisters,’” says Lillie Artale, a homeowner with husband Dennis on Laughter Lane. She’s watching granddaughter Lilly Carroll, 4, of Austin, and her beach buddy Sutton Landry, 4, from Houston, at a kids’ fishing tournament on South Town Lake. The girls pose for pictures, hands on hips, then scamper off to play some more.
The matriarch explains that the girls look forward to every reunion on Laughter Lane, where Sutton’s parents, Brandi and Jesse Landry, have a home too. They spend summer days on the beach or at the pool and go in and out of each other’s beach houses. “They’re inseparable,” Lillie says.
They Met on Laughter Lane
Lilly’s mom, Amber Carroll, explains the girls met when their families backed golf carts into the rear alley at Cinnamon Shore South while visiting her mother’s beach house last June. “Now they’re just like little besties,” Amber says.

Fishing Friends Feel Like Family
On Father’s Day weekend, Sutton won first place in the Father’s Day Fishing Tournament on the bayside grounds of Cinnamon Shore, and Lilly won second place. “The girls love to fish, and their dads love to fish together now, too,” Amber says, adding that she and husband Blair spend time with Sutton’s parents as well. “When we’re at Cinnamon Shore, we do everything together. [The Landrys] feel like our family.”

Memories in the Making
“The cool thing about it is that Brandi and Jesse tell us, ‘We bought this house because we wanted to give Sutton a place to have memories and have friends not just from home,’” Amber says. “The girls just gravitated to each other.”
Sandy Shores Spark Special Bonds
Lilly’s older siblings, Gemma, 11, and Luke, 9, have also made lasting friendships at Cinnamon Shore. They’ve befriended the grandchildren of Lee Ann Peters, who has worked with Cinnamon Shore Realty since the community started almost 20 years ago. “It is so much fun to see those kids get together at Cinnamon Shore and also back in the Austin area between beach trips,” Lee Ann says. Amber reports that Gemma and Luke “play Roblox together online, and they spend the night together at Cinnamon Shore. They have a special bond.”
A Magical Connection
That’s part of the magic of Cinnamon Shore—bringing families together who really connect. In fact, for New Year’s Eve, the Landrys invited the Carrolls to celebrate at a family ranch, to the delight of Sutton and Lilly. They’ll reunite in 2026 at Cin namon Shore. “It’s such a wonderful community,” Amber says. “We would try to go there every other weekend if we could.”
