MELINDA SERVICK
Sol Design | Atlanta, GA
After kicking off the Best in Texas Coastal Home Tour during spring 2025, this Gulf front stunner was back on tour during the holidays. The home’s signature color—sage green—replaced classic evergreen hues for the coastal setting. “We used traditional elements, like trees and garlands and gingerbread houses, but with current refreshing elements, such as eucalyptus and mixed metals,” says designer Melinda Servick. “Timeless textures like velvet and cedar are presented with a slightly different twist from typical holiday red and green.”

KAREN DIETZ
Karen Dietz Interiors | San Antonio, TX
“Holiday cheer meets coastal calm is our theme,” says designer Karen Dietz. When the homeowner provided a handsome, blue-and-white nutcracker to stand tall at her beach home, it inspired Karen to mix classic elements, like velvets and plaids, with “jute-style ribbon and ornaments in soft, coastal hues of blue, green and sand.” The voluminous garland above the fireplace explodes with texture and color, while a classic reindeer anchors the vignette. “Great coastal holiday design strikes a balance between effortless, elevated, and natural,” Karen explains. “It drifts away from theme-heavy decor and embraces a softer, cozier expression of the coast.”

CHIC TO CHIC
Corpus Christi, TX
In this holiday haven, evergreen chargers backed blue-and-white plates, with bundled branches and seed pods embellishing each place setting. A grand tree featured navy blue, gold, and porcelain-patterned ornaments. “What feels current is the use of organic textures— like jute, rattan, and natural greenery— paired with a home’s existing palette rather than forcing a theme,” says Kim Hewerdine of the Chic to Chic team. “What makes it timeless is restraint: thoughtful layers, simple silhouettes, and accents that feel collected.”

TRICIA DABNEY
High Cotton Home & Design | Driftwood, TX
In a grand, light-filled living space, cheery pink and green bottle brush style trees created a centerpiece that drew attention during the holiday home tour. Frosted bristles on pastel branches mixed with shapely, lime-green candlesticks for a festive combo amid the all-white walls. “Our goal was to create a chic, holiday design featuring soft pinks, blush, champagne, and gold,” says Austin-area designer Tricia Dabney. “The vintage bottle brush trees gave a whimsical, nostalgic touch, balanced by refined finishes, for an elevated yet joyful Christmas in a luxury beach home.”

BRITT WENDL-AOSHIMA
Brittaney Wendl-Aoshima Designs | Corpus Christi, TX
At this cupola-topped charmer, bright red trees flank an entry festooned with cranberry-colored garland. Traditional green garland drapes porch railing and balcony, as seagrass and palm tree add to the red-and-green theme. Inside, homeowner and designer Britt Wendl-Aoshima felt inspired by “the serene beauty and mysterious depth of the ocean—a Christmas imagined beneath the waves.” To her, “deep sapphire blues and lush greens mirror the calm of open water, while shimmering mercury-glass ornaments reflect light like sunbeams dancing across the tide.”

BUCK MATHEWS
James Buckley Designs | Corpus Christi, TX
Local designer Buck Mathews followed the homeowner’s wishes for a coastal holiday home that has a seaside palette. “We used lots of silver and turquoise, natural raffia, and a grand, flocked, 12-foot tree that made quite an impression,” he says. White dinnerware placed along the kitchen island created a festive setting atop flocked pine chargers and accented by greens tied with raffia-style bows. Simple garland above kitchen windows and a raffia tree and angel display added to the all-natural look that worked perfectly for a beach home on Barefoot Lane.

BETH POWERS
Kopfer Taylor Interiors | Austin, TX
Working off a “Let It Snow” theme, Beth Powers focused on the dining room, which she considers the true heart of the home—the place where people gather. “We added soft touches of blue to complement the home’s existing palette, while keeping the rest of the décor neutral with subtle shimmer and sparkle. Together, these elements create a snowy, icy feel… And of course, it wouldn’t be a coastal holiday without a few thoughtfully placed ocean-inspired motifs.”
